Benidorm Guide

Benidorm / Finestrat

Benidorm is probably best known as the archetypal Brits abroad holiday destination and while it is true that it remains one of the most popular resorts for travellers from the UK, there is much more to the area than the popular TV show would have you believe.

The beaches at Benidorm are excellent and represent the divide between the new town and the old town. The Levante beach is a stunning stretch of coastline that sits in front of the new town, a popular area for holiday makers while the break in the coast is the point where the old town begins along with the more peaceful Poniente beach. Both beaches are perfectly maintained despite heavy use during the busy summer months.

The old town offers a more traditional Spanish experience with a host of excellent Spanish tapas bars and restaurants lining the cobbled streets while the new town offers a more lively experience with a host of cabaret bars, suitable for all the family and late night entertainment for the younger crowd. Benidorm can be anything you want it to be once you decide your favourite spots.

There are many wonderful family days out available, particularly in the zone just above the town which is home to the Terra Mitica theme park and Terra Natura, a remarkable wildlife park, and Aqualandia, the biggest and best water-park on the Costa Blanca.

Just a few minutes outside the town is the stunning Villaitana Golf Resort that sits between Benidorm and Finestrat. Comprised of the championship Levante course and the smaller Poniente design, this Melia owned resort is as good as any on the Costa Blanca and is open to the public all year round with memberships available. The two excellent Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses offer an enjoyable test, great variety and amaxing vies across the impressive Benidorm skyline.

The nearby hills of Finestrat are home to several new luxury property developments that offer stunning views to the sea and a quiet location just outside the vibrant town of Benidorm.

Benidorm is situated just 25 minutes from Alicante airport along the AP-7 motorway and there are regular bus services to and from Alicante and surrounding towns along the coast. There are also services to all parts of Spain from Valencia to Barcelona and Madrid from the large coach station.
