Extended opening hours for bars in Benidorm on Spain's Costa Blanca

The popular resort of Benidorm now has authorisation for bars and hotels to extend their opening hours to 1am. Up until now all premises have had to close by 11pm, which has been enforced by police with regular patrols and checks that the rules are being followed.

The town hall agreed this move after meetings whereby it was acknowledged that businesses and residents had been extremely prudent and had respectfully followed schedules and regulations that have been set so far in phase 1. And with the slight delay moving into phase 2 for the Valencian community, this is certainly a little bonus for businesses in the hospitality sector.
