Spain enters phase III of release – 50% of the country now in the final phase
8 Jun 2020
At the beginning of today, Monday 8th of June, almost half of Spain entered into the phase III stage of lockdown release in which shopping centres have finally been able to re-open for business - something that has been long awaited by many in need of some retail therapy that simply can´t be found online.
As the wheels of industry slowly turned back into action on this the first day of Phase III, shopping centres and main access roads to coastal resorts were seeing traffic build up again, something which shows that many more people now have the confidence to safely resume their normal daily activities. Traffic jams were reported in the popular region of Andalucia, and other notable coastal resorts throughout the country.
There are of course some restrictions in public areas such as bars, restaurants, churches and social halls, cinemas and theatres, all of which are operating at slightly lower capacity and with face masks required when it is not possible to safely social distance. Time slots for outdoor exercise have also been removed, beaches are fully open for sunbathing and swimming but with social distancing rules still in place, and gatherings are now permitted with up to 20 people in the group.
All in all, the responsible attitude adopted throughout the country is paying off as the Spain now looks forward to lifting lockdown fully by the end of June when we look forward to normality resuming for the most part.
Viva la Vida en Espania – once again.
