The town of Torrevieja is a great spot for those who love the beach but enjoy the atmosphere and energy of urban life. There are several beaches in and around Torrevieja that are well maintained and serviced while you also have the option of a short drive to nearby La Mata and Guardamar.

Health organisations have noted that Torrevieja offers an almost perfect environment in which to live. This is due to the wonderful climate as well as the surrounding salt lakes which, combined, have been seen to help those suffering from a range of conditions including asthma, arthritis, rheumatism, and osteoporosis.

Torrevieja is a primarily Spanish town but with a real international feel as many from Northern Europe have made it their home or second home.

The area is especially popular with Scandinavians and Brits who in many cases have set up bars and restaurants leaving a wonderful selection of venues to choose from.

Torrevieja is home to several top class restaurants including the famous Meson de la Costa which serves traditional Spanish cuisine of the highest quality. Whether you want Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, British pub grub or traditional Spanish tapas, you will find what you are looking for in this busy town.The promenade that runs from the excellent marina all the way around the beaches is a wonderful walk that offers several activities along the way. The ever popular night market sits alongside the fairground during the summer months and is a great activity for families with children.

The city is well connected to both Alicante and Murcia airports, both of which are around 30 minutes away by car. There are also regular bus services in and out of Torrevieja that are simple and very affordable.
